A Beautiful Day For A Bike Ride

I took a short walk to the mall to run some errands, and it was just so nice out, that I knew the gym wasn’t going to cut it today. It was going to be bike ride day! You couldn’t ask for better conditions – sunny with a bit of a breeze, not too hot.

First I had to head home to fuel up with some lunch. It started with a classic – peanut butter & jam.

As you can see though, this wasn’t just any pb & j. I went with Peanut Butter & Co. Dark Chocolate Dreams and raspberry jam. Kind of like a raspberry truffle in a sandwich!

I also blended up a bit of smoothie – fresh mango, yogurt, milk, coconut extract, and shredded coconut.

It was almost like a second breakfast 🙂

After I let that digest a little, I suited up and was off on my bike. I went out to Mattick’s Farm again (about 15 km one way). But man, about half way though, my legs were not impressed, and I started to feel a bit ill to my stomach. I considered just turning around and heading home, but figured it would go away, so I kept going. Needless to say, by the time I actually did get home, I was exhausted! And ready to eat me some dinner – but not until I had a hot shower. How good was the shower on my tired legs?!

Dinner was a veggie filled affair. I started with a Dr Praeger’s California Veggie Burger, and threw it into a Multigrain Flatout Wrap with some sauteed mushrooms, avocado/Laughing Cow smash, dill pickles, lettuce, mustard, and cheddar cheese.

I also made up a little salad of spring mix, leftover roasted butternut squash/onion, goat cheese, and walnuts with a little Annie’s Goddess Dressing.

But when I started eating, I was not feeling the salad AT ALL. I don’t know why, my stomach was still a little off. So I maybe had two or three fork fulls, and tossed the rest. The veggie burger wrap was great though. I think it was the avocado/Laughing Cow smash. It is pretty much amazing. I think I could just make toast, slather some of that on them, and be a happy camper.

Even though I was exhausted and feeling less than stellar, I wandered over to my friend’s place to watch the Amazing Race. He may have also made popcorn, which apparently agrees with my stomach. I can’t believe next week is the finale! And I won’t be able to watch it because of my audition for the 2010 Winter Olympic Opening/Closing Ceremonies. I will have to make sure my parents record it for me.

Well, time to remake my bed so I can lay my tired head down in it. Night 🙂
