Now, I know I’m not moving for 3 1/2 months, but I figure it’s time I start working my way through all the frozen leftovers in my freezer. I’d rather eat them up now, so I don’t end up tossing them when I move. I can always make more, but it’s good to get the old stuff out of there.
So, to kick off the event, I pulled out a serving of Turkey Mushroom Shepherd’s Pie last night and threw it in the fridge so it would be defrosted for tonight.
I served it the way I always ate Shepherd’s Pie as a kid – with a whole lotta ketchup!
Hey, at least now I don’t smash it all together until it resembles something completely inedible! I’ve refined my eating skills 😉
As predicted, about 30 min or so after eating, the stomach was at it again. So I bailed on any thoughts of getting to the gym. I did get in a good nap though, which the cat enjoyed as well. I watched crappy Monday night tv, attempted catching up on some blog reading, then decided it was time to snack. Because obviously, I enjoy upsetting my stomach (what can I say, I was hungry!)
I pulled an Almond Quinoa Muffin out of the freezer, and heated it up in the microwave, then topped it with a little peanut butter. I also grabbed an assortment of dried berries – cranberries, golden berries, and raisins.
In hopes of settling my grumpy tummy, I also made a Tigger mug of Raspberry White Tea. It didn’t do anything for my stomach, but it was pleasant with the muffin 🙂
And now I think I will hit the sack. Have to get up a decent time tomorrow, since I have a stupid work meeting in the morning, plus I need to leave work no later than 4 pm, since I have to run a couple errands, and need to have my butt firmly planted on my couch for the start of the hockey game at 5! Nighty night everyone.
I love freezer cleanouts…that means leftovers! YUM!
Your meatloaf has held up well!! Muffins still look great, too….
Hopefully your tummy stops rebelling by the morning!
MMMMM, I’m coming over! LOL
Shephards pie is too damn good for it’s own good.
Shepherd’s Pie + ketchup = genius!
