Where Is The Love?

Apparently it’s right here 😀

It’s good to know you ARE still all out there. I seriously was just curious if people were still interested in sharing a little piece of my world, and turns out you are. Yay! I’m not just talking to myself! I understand not commenting on every post, nor would I expect that of anyone. Frankly, it would be hypocritical of me to even think that, because I definitely don’t comment on everything I read. But it sure is great when you do comment if something moves you to do so 😀 Thanks for continuing to stop by!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It sure was a rainy, grey, blah day today. And apparently, it’s not ending any time soon. I also ended up staying at work later than planned, mostly because I ended up chatting with a coworker. Looks like I’m going to be keeping my office, which is awesome. I was worried, since we are doing renovations at work, and they are doing a big reorganization of where everyone sits. I thought I might get booted from my office, but turns out I can stay if I want to. I like having the option for privacy, so I was happy.
Lunch was my attempt at something Abbie from Foods That Fit has made quite a few times in the past – burrito-dressed salad! I dug out one lonely ,frozen burrito (red hot beef – spicy!) from the freezer to use as my salad topper.
I had some lovely, local spring mix, so I used that as my salad base.
Heat up the burrito, chop it up, throw it on the salad, shake it up & enjoy. How was it? Hmmm. I think spring mix is not the right choice for the salad base. Abbie uses baby spinach, and I think that would have been much more successful. I also think I should have let the burrito cool down a little more, because it wilted my lettuce more than I would have like. Not quite a success, but I think that’s my own fault, not the concept. Should I ever find myself in possession of another burrito, I might have to give it another try!
I also brought along half of a ruby red grapefruit.
And this Honest Foods Bar that Karen from To Be The Whole Package had sent me recently.
I actually only used half of the square to crumble in some non-fat plain yogurt. It was yummy!
The bar sure has an almond extract aroma as soon as you open the package. It doesn’t taste super “extracty”, but the smell is there. I just really like the texture in the yogurt. I’m sure it would be excellent in oats as well, or just on its own.
After work, I ran to the mall to pick up my hemmed pants, and bought a couple of new t-shirts – I needed something to go with the pants for my audition, and since the shirts were 2 for $24, why not get 2? 😀
Now I need to figure out dinner. I have no clue what I’m feeling tonight, and didn’t really plan anything ahead of time. Bad Marianne. See you later!
    Just as you so eloquently put it, I don’t always have time to comment on blogs like I wish I could. But I’m always reading and can assure you that your blog is loved and enjoyed!
    I like the concept of the burrito-dressed salad. I agree that spinach might be an even better base!
    I’ve been finding shirts on sale lately and have the same mindset as you 🙂
