Getting Bendy

Tonight at Skating Boot Camp the focus was on Flexibility & Balance. Of course, they managed to throw a 10 min run in there, under the guise of a warm up. Booooooo. But I survived that little blip, and quite enjoyed myself for the rest of the evening. It was so awesome out – the sky was completely clear, and we were laying out in the grass doing our exercises. At one point I was lying on back, looking up into the sky, and just wishing I had my camera – I was looking up at the trees, perfect blue sky, with that awesome lighting where the sun is getting low in the sky and all the colours are so rich and vibrant!

Before boot camp, I made myself a smoothie to tide me over until I got home. It contained mango, cantaloupe, milk, yogurt, vanilla whey protein powder, coconut, and coconut butter. It was all sorts of good πŸ˜€

Like the cat scratch on my hand? Ah, the joys of having a cat as a pet. That was from this morning when she had a little freak out.

When I got home from boot camp, I had a hankering for oatmeal. So breakfast for dinner it was!

  • 1/2 cup oats, milk, water
  • 1/2 cup frozen rhubarb
  • splash of vanilla
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed
  • cinnamon
  • brown sugar

I also toasted up a slice of Cascadia Bakery Honey Wheat Berry Bread and spread on a little chunky peanut butter. It was a great salty compliment to the sweet oats.

I had this with a mug of chocolate hazelnut decaf tea that escaped the camera. Oops!

Then I spent the evening getting the recycling ready to take out in the morning, doing dishes, prepping some food for lunch tomorrow, and doing a little ab work on the mat. Of course, I didn’t have nearly enough evening to get everything done that I wanted. I cannot figure out where all my time is going – it’s like the day just speeds past me, and I can’t get ahead on all the things I want to. Ugh. I need a personal assistant or something.

And on that note, I’m off to bed. Night!

i like the smoothie! i would drink one for breakfast but it wouldn’t fill me up for more than an hour. about your rhubarb oats- did you find the rhubarb really sour? or had you sweetened it? because i can not imagine eating chunks of sour in my oats lol

You can probably just use agave or maple syrup in place of the dates in the chocolate avocado mousse! Or another sweetener that you prefer. πŸ™‚
