Wheelin’ And Dealin’

Looks like I have a few people interested in buying some of the things I put up on Craigslist last night πŸ™‚ In particular, my old cell phone. Yay! Hopefully one of the people interested comes through.

I also applied to a volunteer position with an RD. The university I’ll be going to has a list-serve set up by the school that runs the Dietetics program, and they send out various volunteer opportunities for students, as they want you to build up your knowledge, skills, and contacts when applying to, and in the program. Most of the ones I’ve seen I wouldn’t be able to do, because they involve living in the Lower Mainland (I’ll be there soon, but not soon enough). Well, one came up that involves researching content for articles for a private practice RD, and most of the work can be done from home. Score! I emailed her, and hopefully will hear back, but I’m not going to hold my breath – she was asking for people already in the program. But you never know, right?

Anyways, let’s check out some food. Namely, dinner.

I grilled up a salmon burger on the Foreman, and topped it with a little Laughing Cow and red pepper jelly.

I also grilled up a portabella mushroom to go along with it. Can you believe I’ve never grilled one before? Crazy, I know!

And I rounded out the plate with some leftover jasmine rice & soy sauce, as well as some frozen green peas πŸ™‚

I apologize for the lame indoor photos – my landlords were out doing work in the backyard all night, and I didn’t want to look like a goof taking my dinner out there to photograph it.

My friend brought over more boxes for me tonight too. Hurray for more packing. Except, I totally didn’t pack anything this evening. In fact, I did a whole lotta nothing. I spent alot of time on the phone with my sister, deciding on fun things to do when she’s here in August. So far we know were are going to eat. Like there was any question about that!

No real evening snack tonight – I grabbed a couple of dried apricots to munch on, but they escaped the camera. They are sneaky little devils

And now we come to that time when I turn off the computer and tell you all that I’m going to bed, when in fact, I’ll be up for another hour doing nothing important, then wishing I had just gone to bed in the first place. You wonder why I can’t wake up the mornings, eh? Night!

I hope you get the intern position – that would be such a great experience!! I hope you liked the grilled shroomie! They’re good as veggie burger substitutes πŸ™‚

Oh yum, I love portabella mushrooms, and yours look fantastic! The salmon burger looks great too, and with red pepper jelly? I bet that was very tasty.

Good luck hearing back from that lady. That really does sound like a great RD opportunity! I am unsure where you are doing your dietetic program, and is it an internship or undergraduate studies? I wish my school had provided a list of volunteer opportunities, that would have been very useful.

Fingers crossed you get the job!

I love red pepper jelly – I plan on making some next month to give out as Christmas gifts – I’ll have to send you a jar! πŸ˜€

hahaha no not lame at all! In fact, there are way too many smoky grilling pictures, so the focus on food is very welcomed!

Craigslist DEFINITELY rocks! I am totally going to sell my old cell phone on it too! What a fabulous idea!!! πŸ™‚
