Bowl O’ Stuff

Tonight was boot camp night, so I had myself a snack when I got home. You don’t want to be gnaw your arm off hungry while kickin’ it at boot camp.

I decided to try out this Honey Roasted Peanut Clif Mojo bar that K sent me. Here’s the unwrapped shot.

These bars are so fun. I really enjoy the whole sweet/salty combination they provide. The addition of pretzels in a bar is great! Now, I must say, this one doesn’t make my number 1 Mojo slot. I actually tried the Mountain Mix one awhile ago, but it was when my camera died and I didn’t have my mom’s as a replacement, so unfortunately it got missed out. I think that one gets higher ranking because a) is has chocolate, and b) it has fruit, so it gives you an even greater texture mix than this peanut one. Both are great, but Mountain Mix nudges out Honey Roasted Peanut in my books. We need these in Canada. Clif, are you listening?

Boot Camp was fun tonight – we worked on flexibility and strength. It was a beautiful evening to be outside – zero clouds in the sky, but a great breeze so that you didn’t overheat in the sun. I only get to go to two more sessions though I’m going to miss my skating peeps.

When I got home, I saw that I had missed a call from my mom, so I ended up on the phone with her for half an hour. By then it was 9 pm, and I still hadn’t had dinner. I was in one of those moods where I had no clue what I wanted, so I just went on a fridge rummaging mission. I ended up with a bowl o’ stuff.

I heated up some leftover jasmine rice and the few black beans remaining in my fridge. Then I sauteed up a portabella mushroom with a few spinach leaves that were on the verge of going manky, and threw that on the rice. And I grabbed a few turkey feta spinach meatballs from the freezer, heated them up, and added them to the bowl. A few (or more) dashes of soy sauce, and dinner was good to go.

Check out that feta cheese trying to escape the meatball.

So really, there’s nothing overly spectacular going on in this bowl. It filled the hungry tummy, and that’s all I was asking, because I had nothing that I was actually craving other than the rice & soy sauce. Perhaps I should have just eaten that, but that would have made for boring blogging 😉

I spent the rest of my evening blog reading, answering emails, watching tv, and sipping on some Stash Coconut Mango tea. Now I’m watching Sienna torture a spider – I wish she would just eat the damn thing, instead of playing with it all evening. Crap…looks like she lost it. I have to go track down a spider now. Night!

I love variety in my meals. Your bowl of “stuff” is a good meal in my book.

Oh yeah, GREAT looking Bowl O’ Stuff!! Seriously, I want it now!
The Cliff bar sounds like a good flavor, although I’ve never tried it before. I really don’t think I’ve even seen that flavor. I’m trying to figure out what the red things are…are they the honey roasted nuts?? Hmm, I’m going to search for that flavor now.
    Have a great day!

Glad you liked the Mojos! Mountain Mix is my number two – have you tried the PB pretzel one (I sent you that one right?)? That’s probably my favorite. I love the bowl meal 🙂
