Dumping George

Foreman that is.

It’s true, I had to break up with the Foreman today. It’s been coming for awhile. No longer will he come clean after grilling my favourite foods, and he’s starting to lose his non-stick coating. It’s been a great 5+ years, but sometimes you just have to move on. Good thing I already had a trip planned to the dump.

Sienna also had to break up with her favourite scratching post. There was basically no carpet left on it whatsoever. I don’t think she’s taking it too well – she can’t even get out of bed 😉

But before the eventful trip to the city dump, I had a nice little lunch.

It started with some chicken & smoked oyster gumbo (still finding treasures in my freezer!). It was a good choice for this rainy, dreary day.

I paired up my soup with a salad.

I tossed some red leaf lettuce with Annie’s Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing, and topped it with shredded carrot, cucumber, sheep’s milk feta, and some pine nuts.

I don’t know why I’ve never bought pine nuts before – they are a great salad topped. Good thing my sister bought extras while she was here 🙂

I also ran a few other errands while I was out, and I think I finally have my address changed with everyone I need to. I figure if I can’t remember any more to change, then they can’t be that important anyways, right? Just in case though – I got the post office to forward any mail for the next 3 months as well.

When I got back, I was in the mood for a little something something. I knew I had some frozen watermelon, and wanted to blend it up into a frothy fun drink – despite the grey skies.

Into the Magic Bullet cup when frozen watermelon, So Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream, a little fresh watermelon, a little water, and perhaps a splash of Malibu 😉 It took a little coaxing, but I finally ended up with the blended drink I was looking for.

Yum yum!

Now I’m just relaxing and gearing up for a dinner out with a coworker. We’re going for my favourite – sushi! I’m excited 😀

Sorry about the Foreman, I’m sure it really enjoyed it’s life though, so don’t be sad 🙂

The watermelon ice cream is so great. I need to get a magic bullet, really bad. It’s the first thing on my Christmas list!

Wow, you are a brave girl, dumping George–I just had a date with him today for lunch, actually. He’s been around since high school, so our days together are numbered too…
