Faux Moving Day

It almost feels like moving day, what with all the things I have to haul out of my living room & bedroom and find places for in the kitchen. Carpet cleaning is a pain in the ass! At least I don’t have to move my couch or bed. But still – I have to disconnect all my electronics, which means I need to get this post up lickity split so I can turn off the ol’ computer and get a move on.

I’m currently rationing the few dairy products I have left in my fridge, so I had to pass up on using any milk or yogurt for breakfast this morning, as I only have about 1 serving left of each. I had to think a little while about what I could make that wouldn’t take too long so I’d have time to get things done this morning. Here’s what I came up with.

I toasted up a couple slices of Silver Hills “The Big 16” bread, then spread on a thin layer of red pepper jelly. Then I added granny smith apple slices, and the last little bit of white cheddar in the house. Pop it under the broiler for a few, and you are good to go. More of my homemade iced tea on the side, of course.

You can’t really see the red pepper jelly, but I assure you it’s under there, and key to dish. Sweet, salty, spicy. Yum!

How could I forget a gratuitous melty cheese shot? 😉

Time to sign off and get going!
