Humming & Hawing

That’s what I spent my evening doing – humming and hawing over what to do about my laptop dilemma. Have I come to a resolution? You’ll just have to wait to find out

As I had a super late lunch, I was not hungry when the dinner bell rang around 5:30 pm. So I failed to join the family for dinner at the table. I did eventually emerge from my cave basement, and made my way upstairs to partake in the leftovers.

Mom had grilled up beef kabobs on the BBQ. I think they were marinated in a Greek marinade. I’m not sure what else was on there, but they sure did smell good!

There were baked potatoes as well. I think they left me the biggest one! I guess that’s what happens when you don’t make it to dinner on time to claim your potato. I topped mine with some parmesan cheese.

And some simple steamed broccoli. I topped that with parm as well, seeing as I had the grater out.

Seriously, giant potato! At least it’s good for some potassium and vitamin C!

I also enjoyed a little bubbly – sparkling water that is.

After my late dinner, I ended up going out with dad on a mystery shopping mission. Too bad the whole thing was a bust It sucks when you drive any distance and come back empty handed because the store was sold out. Le sigh. Good thing for online shopping right?

Eventually, I was feeling up for the usual evening snack. There were some gigantic nectarines in the fruit bowl that had just ripened up enough to eat, so I knew I’d better grab one before they were gone.

We also received some cute little green grapes from our neighbour today. I guess her father has an organic (although not certified as such – too expensive) farm, and he brings in lots of fresh produce. Since our neighbours can’t eat it all, they bring over the excess to us. Can’t complain about that!

There were also some cookies from Costco on the counter calling my name. I gave in, and grabbed a white chocolate one. Love me some white chocolate!

I think it’s the perfect balance of healthy & sweet treat for dessert, don’t you?

These were some awesome nectarines. I think I’m going to have to back and buy some more ASAP!

Now I should pry myself away from the computer and get myself into bed. I made it to bed early last night! I may have stayed up late reading, but hey, at least I was in bed, right? Baby steps people. Night!

I will be interested to see the decision you made on the laptop. i have a Mac, but it is getting up there in years. Most of my coursework is on-line, so I am hoping it has all of the bells and whistles it needs. If not, the question will be whether it’s worth it to update an old computer or get a new one. And if I need a new one, do I stick with Mac? I am hoping my good old computer will be fine so I don’t have to face that question!

Great looking beef kabobs!! Oh how I wish I still lived with my parents, and got to have good meals like that. I mean, I could make them, but it’s not the same when you are cooking for one!! Nick is usually working late.
The dessert looks perfect. I’m into white chocolate now, so the cookie would have satisfied me perfectly. The fruit is also a nice, healthy addition.

Great fruit and cookie plate! The perfect balance, in my opinion. 😉

    Hmmmm….wonder which you went with?

Oh man, I haven’t had a baked potato in so long that I’m drooling over yours! I may have to pick up a spud for today. I used to top mine with ranch dressing 😀

White chocolate is pretty hard to deny!
