Long day #2 down, and…I don’t know how many more to go I’m too tired to figure that one out 😉 But I managed to survive today, and didn’t end up so hungry I wanted to gnaw my arm off, so a big to me!

We had an interesting class this afternoon in Land, Food, and Community. We didn’t spend much time on the actual subject, and instead had a workshop determining our personality types and how to work with them so our groups function well in the course (we are all divided into groups of 6 or 7 people, and have a few projects/presentations to do). It was pretty interesting, and I found out that the majority of our class is something completely different from me. I always knew I was weird

I made the long trip home, to find out that cannelloni was on the menu tonight. Smothered in tomato sauce. Not my thing. So I put together a tasting plate full of dippables.

I started with my veggies – the usual carrot and cucumber sticks to go with that amazing dill dip. I also threw some cheddar cheese on the plate because, well, everything is better with cheese

Then I added a sliced up gala apple , half of a whole wheat naan, toasted and cut into wedges, and some peanut butter. Because everything is also better with peanut butter.

The apple slices were the only ones ready for their glamour shots.

Food is always more fun when you get to dip it.

And it totally hit the spot. I’m almost tempted to have this again tomorrow.

After all that dipping fun, I needed a soothing beverage to accompany my tv watching (So You Think You Can Dance Canada, of course).

A mug of Stash Vanilla Nut Creme Decaf with a splash of milk & agave did the trick. Somehow those two little cookies found there way onto the counter and into the photo. I’m not sure how that could have happened.

All I want to do now is go to sleep and hope my head cold goes away, but I think I’ll have to get in at least a little reading first. Nighty night!

I’m a huge fan of dipping plates. There’s always so much variety and it feels like a lot more food than it really is. Every bite is a fun surprise.

As you probably have noticed, I am a HUGE fan of dippable meals…especially if they involve hummus:)
