Breakfast Is The Most Important Meal Of The Day

It sure was today. I started off with some fabulous food, then my hunger never truly returned, so it was totally meh from there.

I was rudely awoken this morning by my mom’s cat hacking up something outside my room. Fortunately, I’m not turned off by things like that, I proceeded into the kitchen to make something I haven’t had in eons – French Toast.

French toast just seems like such a Sunday morning breakfast, doesn’t it? It’s not like it really takes long to make mind you, so I’m not sure why I only think to make it on weekends. Anyways, for my toast, I soaked 2.5 pieces of Silver Hills Squirrelly Bread in a mixture of 1 egg, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, vanilla, and ground flax seed. Then I fried it up in a dab of butter. Yum.

There were some pears that needed consuming, otherwise they were going to get acquainted with the compost bin mighty quick, so I sauteed one with butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, and craisins. It made the perfect topping, along with some non-fat plain yogurt.

And it just wouldn’t be breakfast without a glass of Happy Planet Mango Peach Party.

Oh boy, was it delicious! I normally wouldn’t have made so much, but there was one real piece of bread left, and two end pieces, so I figure it works out to just a little more than 2 slices. No point in leaving a little nub in the freezer, right?

I cleaned up the pigsty that was the kitchen, and then sorted out some issues with my laptop. For some reason, it decided to stop acknowledging it had a wireless signal. After an hour or so of frustration, I finally just restored the system back a few days, and wouldn’t you know it – damn thing worked again. Gotta love technology.

My frustrations didn’t end there though. I also sent out some friendly reminders via email to group members in one of my classes – we have two assignments due on one day, so although we still have 2 weeks, it’s quickly approaching!

I never really had much hunger for lunch, so I kept it small, and exerted minimal effort. Such as heating up a bowl of Italian wedding soup.

Or slicing cheddar cheese to put on some crackers.

Minimal effort at it’s finest.

I spent a good portion of the evening working on some journal articles due on Tuesday. I’ve been putting them off, because I know they’ll be easy enough to write – we only have to write 400 – 600 words for each entry (6 entries total). After knocking out a good chunk of them, I think I’m actually going to have to edit down! Apparently I’m just too verbose.

I took some time out to watch the Amazing Race, and have what I’m calling dinner. If you can call popcorn seasoned with buttah and nooch dinner.

And since I’m calling that dinner, I’m allowed to have dessert right? Like this sliver of pumpkin pie and fresh pineapple.

Seems perfectly logical to me 😀

I’ve also become horribly addicted to some Facebook games. I really should have known better than to start playing them, but damnit, I love me some good computer games. So if you’ll excuse me, I have a virtual farm and restaurant to take care of. Night!

I hope your group assignments go alright – group members that slack and ride off of you are always annoying. Boo to that!
