Another Sunday

…has come and gone. I can’t believe the weekend is already over. I really think they should make 3 day weekends the norm. Either that, or I need to seek out a 4 day, 10 hour work schedule once I’m out of school.

I seriously wasted my Sunday, but it was good. Like I had said earlier, I had no assignments in dire need of attention, so I wanted to keep my weekend relatively school work free.

Lunch at my cousin’s was nice. It was hosted by his wife (he was at work), and she invited the ladies in the family (my mom, sister, aunt, cousins). My sister and one cousin couldn’t come, but my other cousin’s fiancé came, and brought along her 10 month old twins, so that definitely provided some entertainment 🙂 We had a delicious lunch of spinach, strawberry, pecan, goat cheese salad with a balsamic vinaigrette; beef samosas, and these salmon/pastry things that were alright (the samosas were better). We visited for awhile, then everyone left. I stayed for awhile longer, to keep the hostess company. Plus she forgot to serve dessert to everyone, so we enjoyed some strawberry rhubarb pie while we watched PVR’d SNL episodes and played a little Guitar Hero: World Tour.

When I finally got home, my family was just eating dinner, but I had no hunger whatsoever. I finally got hungry around 8 pm, but didn’t really want the leftovers from dinner (I’m saving them for lunch tomorrow).

I made up a simple bagel & cheese sandwich.

And added some dates and dried figs.

I was going for the whole sweet/savoury combo.

You know, it totally hit the spot.

I watched some Amazing Race, showed my mom how to deconstruct a pomegranate, and worked on some projects. I spent some time rummaging under the stairs, trying to find some old photo albums as well – I need a couple of photos from junior high for my presentation on Tuesday. Alas, it turns out all my photo albums are in the garage, so I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to get them out.

I’m sorry this was a pretty lacklustre post. It was a rainy, lazy Sunday; I didn’t eat much at home (so no photos); and I found out that someone I used to work with back in Victoria passed away from a blood clot that moved from their leg into their lungs (they were only 27). I’m in a bit of a melancholy mood, I’m sure you can understand.

Time to head to bed. At least I get to listen to the rain fall as I go to sleep – I always find it so soothing 🙂 Night!
