So Much For That Idea

I fail at mornings.

Despite my stating I was not going to sleep in on Friday, well…I’m sure you can guess what happened. And it left me with no time to make breakfast or lunch. I did manage down some POM Wonderful Pomegranate Mango juice (straight from the container – I’m classy like that) grab some random food stuffs, before rushing out the door for the day.

Breakfast was eaten in two parts. First, the Coconut Cream Pie Larabar, during my biochemistry lecture.

I could barely keep my eyes open, so I knew caffeine was in my future. It was also freezing (stupid rain) so I made my way to the Starbucks.

My usual green tea latte just wasn’t going to cut it this morning. I brought out the big guns.

Yes, I broke down and drank coffee, in the form of a non-fat, no whip, white chocolate mocha. I am not a coffee drinker, but sometimes I like to enjoy a mocha. It was tasty, and did it’s job at waking my sleep self up.

Then 45 min later, I remembered the reason I don’t drink coffee.

Let’s just say my system sure felt cleaned out. Didn’t get enough fibre? Coffee can help ya out.

But enough TMI talk.

I did some reading for my food science class, played around on the interweb, then braved the outdoors in search of lunch. I finally figured out where the nearest Tim Hortons was on campus, so I made my way over there. I was on a mission for soup! They only had two kinds, so my options were limited, but fortunately one was a favourite of mine – Creamy Field Mushroom.

This is some of the best cream of mushroom soup. It’s chocked full of big pieces of mushroom, and is super creamy. You’d think it would come with a hefty nutritional price tag, but other than it’s hideous sodium count, the whole 284 mL (10 oz) cup is only 150 calories, and has only 3g of fat.

To go with my soup, I had a sandwich. Classic soup & sandwich combo never fails! I went with the turkey bacon club, sans tomato (duh).

Again, if you ignore the sodium (serious Tim Horton’s? There’s no reason for the ridiculous sodium content in your foods), not a nutritional nightmare (440 calories, 8 g fat, 2.5 sat fat, 25% daily iron).

This left me warm and full, and ready for my afternoon class.

Speaking of which, I’ve decided that the lecture is pointless, and I can learn the information myself from doing the readings. I’ll still go to lecture, but if I need to be somewhere, I have no qualms about missing or leaving early, for sure.

I made my way home, downed a Cocoa Banana Muffin, and headed back out the door to go to work. It was work – the usual selling of produce. I did learn some interesting things about the company, and between you and me, I have a feeling I won’t be employed there for long. I have a feeling the won’t take well to me not being able to work for the two weeks of the Olympics. But you never know.

I arrived back at home, completely exhausted and ready for dinner. It was random leftover night.

I had some salad with romaine, cucumbers, chicken, croutons, and honey mustard dressing.

And basmati rice with soy sauce.

I then did my best sloth imitation for the rest of the evening. I could not find any energy for the life of me yesterday. Still working on that whole sleep balance thing I guess. I did partake in a little hot chocolate later on the evening, with a side of Wii.

But other than that, I did nada. And knew posting just wasn’t going to happen until morning…er afternoon.  Anyways, I must be going – I’m off to the gym. Later gators!

    I used to be that way when I drank coffee but now my body is totally accustomed to it! I used to love going to Tim Hos on campus, now I never go and I live across from one! Mainly because you can’t get soy coffee drinks there.

    lol! You crack me up. I love drinking coffee early in the morning, because I get…a-hem, cleaned out, too. And that makes me start the day feeling light and refreshed. TMI too? Hee hee.

    Coffee has that effect on my, too. Sometimes it’s appreciated, sometimes not so much! 😉

    OH MY GOSHHHHHHHHHH! I TOTALLY MISS TIM HORTON’S! they need to bust them all over the states! and not just michigan, which was the only place I had seen it!!
