Foodie Interlude

OMG – a post that doesn’t mention the “O” word. Don’t worry, they’ll be back. I just thought I’d mix things up a bit by throwing in, oh, I don’t know, a food post on my food blog. Crazy concept, I know!

I hummed and hawed over what to post, as I have been amassing many photos since *that thing* ended a couple weeks ago. But I thought I’d feature a fun package I received in the mail.

A while back, I sent out some of the coveted Red Mittens to Heather from Hangry Pants. In exchange, she did a little Trader Joe’s shopping on my behalf 🙂

There was a box of TJ’s Oat n Wheat Bran Swirls cereal.

A couple of bars – Clif Peanut Butter Pretzel Mojo bar and a Pure Cherry Cashew bar.

Some dried hibiscus flowers, also TJ’s brand.

Barney Butter! One of those blog favourites I’ve read countless posts on, but never tried myself.

And some Justin’s Naturals Almond Butters, which sound equally yummy.

Heather was nice enough to even bake me some cookies. They managed to survive their trip in somewhat of a cookie shape.

Thanks so much Heather!

And of course, I’ve been slowly trying out the gifts I received. Like mixing the broken cookies into some plain yogurt.

Eating the cereal by the palmful.

And topping of some homemade trail mix with the hibiscus flowers.

I’m both sad and relieved that I can’t get that cereal here in Canada. It’s so freakin’ good. I love to grab a few pieces and munch on them as a little snack. It’s like eating animal crackers or Teddy Grahams – I don’t know why I always think that when I eat it. I’ve yet to eat it as a cereal with milk though 😉

Strangely, I haven’t dug into the almond butters yet. I know, what’s up with that?! I keep forgetting I have them, and reaching for my peanut butter jar instead. But don’t worry – I’ll make sure to try them out and share that with you as well.

Hope you enjoyed my little foodie interlude.

Everything looks awesome! I love TJs so much – I wish they’d bring the store up to Canada! The prices are so reasonable too.
