Silver Hills Sprouted Grain Bread Giveaway

I’m sure you’ve seen me eat many a slice of toast or sandwich made with Silver Hillsdelicious bread.

The two favourite varieties we enjoy at our house are The Big 16 and Squirrelly.

fffs_lp 968

  • The Big 16 – 16 organic grains and seeds. 5g of fibre per slice, high protein, low sodium
  • Squirrelly – our most popular variety, loaded with sunflower & sesame seeds. 5g of fibre per slice.

But Silver Hills , located in Abbotsford, BC, offers many other breads, with fun names like “King’s Kamut”, “Hemptation”, “Mack’s Flax”, and “Steady Eddie”. They also have a new wheat free bread just on the market, made with chia seeds!

All of Silver Hills breads are made with sprouted organic grains from a wind powered farm in Alberta. The sprouting process increases the nutrition and digestibility of their breads, but more importantly makes for an awesome, hearty loaf. They also package all of their breads in biodegradable bags. I’m all for companies that not only provide a superior product, but are socially and environmentally conscious.

So what does this all mean for you? Well, Wendy at Silver Hills has graciously offered to send one lucky reader 5 coupons for free loaves of Silver Hills Breads, as well as a t-shirt featuring one of the cute little characters on their packaging.

When I’m not making my own bread, which come summer is very few and supporting local bakers at farmers markets or bakeries, I love sprouted breads and this is one companies bread I like to pick up if I need to buy bread at the store. But the one I would like to try is the Hemptation as I’m a big supporter when it comes to hemp products.

I live near Vernon, BC, so I remember when Silver Hills was just “down the road”. We were sorry to have them move to the Coast – our loss – but glad the company is doing so well and continuing to innovate with great tasting, healthful and environmentally friendly products!

I’ve been trying to cut back on my wheat, and have recently discovered – and love – chia seeds, so I would love the opportunity to try their new bread!
