A Beautiful Day For A Hair Cut

When I started the day, my hair looked like this.

Were my hands not up above my head, you would see that my shaggy mop actually reached all the way down to my bra line. Much like all the Canucks shaving off their playoffs beards today, it was time for a hair cut!

But that was not the first thing on my to-do list today. First was to put in my contact lenses so I wasn’t stumbling around like a blind person, and to do the rest of the morning bathroom routine. Then it was time to fill the belly with breakfast.

Oh Canucks – that’s not the front page story we wanted to see this morning. So sad, so sad. At least breakfast was bright and cheery.

Again with the yogurt bowl. This one had Liberté Vanilla Greek yogurt, frozen blueberries, and granola.

I also grabbed a slice of cranberry bread, and spread on a little Almond Budder Extreme. There was literally a nub of bread left after I took my slice.

More of the jus de pamplemousse. Look at me, busting out my mad French skillz. Mon dieu!

My back deck make such a nice photography location. Nice wood background, natural lighting. Can’t ask for much more. Well, maybe a Stanley Cup winning hockey team.

I swear, I’m not bitter about the loss.

I spent some leisure time perusing the newspaper and online, then made my way down to the gym for some weight lifting fun. By the time I arrived back at home, I was needing to get some lunch in me, so I could head out for the afternoon. Good thing there were leftovers from our fajita feast the night before.

Check out those pasty white feet sneaking into the photo. It may be sunny, but that don’t mean I’m getting any more tanned.

I basically shoved all the leftovers into a whole wheat tortillachicken, peppers, onions, avocado, salsa, Monterey Jack jalapeno cheese, lettuce, and sour cream.

There was a little too much for one fajita, but not really enough for two, so I just rolled it up and ate it. It was messy, but that means it was good, right?

I had my hair appointment in the afternoon, at a new salon that my cousin’s wife recommended. Since moving back from Victoria, I’ve been wanting to find a new stylist that can deal with my curly mop o’ hair. She did a good job – got rid of the excess, then blew it out straight, which I love – mostly because I can’t do it myself.

And check that fancy shirt out! I went to the mall afterwards in search of something fun to wear to a BBQ this weekend, and I scored this cute top. I was in search of some new capris as well, but that was a bust. I apologize for the blinding white arm in the foreground.

By the time I arrived home, my sister was creating dinner. She was making some turkey chili, which was not something I wanted to consume. Mostly because of the kidney beans. I don’t know what it is, but I cannot stand kidney beans. I wasn’t overly hungry right then anyways, so while the family enjoyed their chili, I just noshed on one of the toasted buns my sister made to go with it.

Then we went for a nice little walk up near the park. Again, we both wore our iPods and did the anti-social thing. Is that weird?

Once we were home, I was ready to eat dinner. I wasn’t in the mood to cook anything, and ended up with this.

A slice of Silver Hills sprouted grain bread, toasted and spread with Almond Budder Extreme. Speaking of Silver Hills – have you entered my giveaway to win 5 free loaves and a t-shirt? No? What are you waiting for?!

My mom’s cat Wilson was sleeping on the hot tub lid, and came over to see what I was doing with my food on the deck.

Nosy little bugger was checking out my smoothie as well!

Alas, I don’t think it was up to his standards. Good thing I liked the combination – 1/2 mango, 5 strawberries, 1 tbsp flax seed, 1 scoop Vega Sport Performance Vanilla protein powder, milk.

I really do enjoy the Vega protein powder. I just wish it wouldn’t make all my smoothies look like cement.

That’s probably why Wilson turned his back on my food.

The rest of the evening was quality time with the TV for ANTM and CSI:NY. I would have watched Criminal Minds too, but PVR’d that instead for another day. I also enjoyed a wee bowl of peanut butter swirl ice cream.

Mom is gonna be mad. I finished off the container. In my defence though – had I not finished off the container, someone would have opened it up to see there was only 1 spoonful left, and would have been disappointed. I’m just trying to avoid that whole disappointment. Yeah…that’s it.

Now we come to that part of the post where I tell you I’m going to bed, even though I know most of you will be reading this the next day, so it seems a bit silly, but that’s how it goes. So while I sleep, why don’t you head on over to Run Sarah and enter her giveaway for a $60 gift certificate to spend at CSN Stores? You know, after you enter my Silver Hills giveaway. Night!

My hair always looks best after my hairdresser does it, too. Why can’t we achieve such a great look for ourselves?

    Wislon’s a nosy fella, eh? 😉

Messy wraps (especially fajitas) are always the best. That clearly means they’re packed to the brim with too many good toppings to handle, which is never a bad thing.

Loving the freshly chopped hair! I can never stop running my hands through a nice smooth healthy hair cut, it always feels 10x nicer after the salon.

Nice hair! I love when the hair dressers style it.. except when they make it poker straight all the time. My face is too round for that shiz so the last time I went I asked for something different. She gave me curls and it was lovely. 🙂

I’m the same way with the ice cream – no one wants to open it to find 1/12 of a bowl so it’s my duty to help myself to the rest.
