Happy Time-And-A-Half Day

To those who had Monday off, it would have been Happy Victoria Day. But for those of us who had the pleasure of working, I say to you – Happy Time-And-A-Half Day! The extra money in my pocket is definitely the only perk of working on the holiday.

I started off Time-And-A-Half Day with an early morning wake up call, and some breakfast.

Just a bowl of Nature’s Path Pumpkin Raisin Crunch cereal with some milk.

And half of a somewhat tart grapefruit.

Plus a glass of black current elderberry juice.

I only had to work for 5 hours, but that still meant I needed to pack something to eat. I went with a Chocolate Crisp Bumble Bar.

The gala apple I didn’t eat with my lunch the day before.

And some Greek yogurt mixed with my favourites – peanut butter and maple syrup.

Had I been smart, I would have cut up the apple into slices, and used them to scoop up the Greek yogurt mixture. Now that would have been good!

When I got home, I considered a trip to the gym, but knew I needed some fuel to tide me over in the mean time. So I mixed up some Vega Shake & Go Smoothie (Vanilla Almondilla) with almond milk. Have you tried it yet? Because it’s amazing. Do it!

And munched on a bison pepperoni stick while I sat out in the sunshine, working on some Vitamin D synthesis.

But then, my tired ol’ legs told me that going to the gym at that moment was not a good idea. So instead, I ended up having a glorious 2+ hour nap. I woke up refreshed, and ready to help my mom with dinner.

I’m sure it won’t surprise any of you to see we had leftovers from our pork roast dinner the night before.

A couple of slices of pork roast graced my plate with some gravy.

As well as leftover green beans, carrots, and the last onion (score!) Mom made a little apple/raisin/Miracle Whip salad to go with dinner, so I added a scoop of that to my plate as well.

Plus more corn on the cob. It was so good the last time, I had to buy some more before the sale was over.

I love when I have a plate filled with colourful, nutritious, and delicious eats.

After sufficient digestion time, I made my way to the gym for some sweatin’ good times. I made sure to go late enough that it wouldn’t be crowded, but early enough so I could get home and watch the CSI: Miami season finale. Speaking of which – wtf? I don’t want to wait until next season to know if anyone dies! ARGH!

As per the norm, there was a small evening snack.

A mug of chamomile tea, jazzed up with a little almond milk and cool mint honey, plus a slice of Silver Hills Wheat Free Chia bread, toasted and topped with peanut butter and cinnamon creamed honey. Apparently I was craving honey last night!

I then stayed up too late, and went to sleep. Good thing I have today off! Time to go bake 🙂

    where can i get that pepperoni stick!?! i seriously must find them!!! i used to eat pepperoni stick liek they were going out of style, and i would love to try a bison one ❤

    yay time-and-a-half.. yes even tho i had the day off and enjoyed a parade.. i had so much cleaning to do so i ended up feeling like i didnt quite get a chance to relax.. o well..

    bumble bars are pretty good! love the chocolate and cherry one 🙂
