Title Please

I think the hardest part of blogging is coming up with that ever important post title. Sometimes I will sit here for entirely too long, staring a the blank Windows Live Writer screen, trying to come up with something to sum up my blog post. And sometimes, like this evening, nothing will come to me. Writing the actual post? That’s easy! But titles…that is where my writer’s block gets me.

Fortunately this block doesn’t extend to my need to create tasty food throughout the day. It sure wasn’t there at breakfast.

I was in a cereal kind of mood. I also knew there was half of a mango in the fridge that I should eat. The obvious answer was to just combine the two.

I mixed together some Kashi cereals – GoLean Crunch and 7 Whole Grain Honey Puffed – then chopped up the mango right on top. Milk was added, plus a dollop of peanut butter for good measure.

More of that black current elderberry juice was consumed.

I love how mango makes for such a bright, sunny breakfast. Even if they sun itself isn’t shining.

I made my first trip out of the house to pay a visit to my gym, where I think I strained a muscle in my neck doing some strength training. Not cool. But this delivery made up for it.

I ordered some books from Amazon at the beginning of the month. Turns out they aren’t ones that ship the next day. But I finally received…2 of the 3.

Because I need another cookbook like I need another hole in my head, I decided to indulge my ecologist side and ordered some light reading.

Most people read fiction for fun. I am not most people.

As much as I would have loved to dive into my new books, I had more pressing issues at hand. Like deciding what to have for lunch.

I went fridge and cupboard scavenging, and ended up with this collection of randomness.

Soup was a must – our rainy, dreary days continue. I went with tomato soup. Tomatoes are like eggs for me – only to be consumed in very specific ways. Soup is one of them.

There was pork roast in the fridge that looked rather inviting, so I sliced some up, and dunked it in mustard.

Some Little Qualicum Cheeseworks Raclette cheese and garlic bread also found their way onto the plate.

Sometime in the afternoon a chocolate chip cookie jumped into my hand. It came out of nowhere. My only defence was to eat the damn thing.

Alas, I had to go back out in the rain, as I had a short 4 hour shift at work. When I got to the top of my hill, I ran into road construction, and was stuck at the intersection for some time. I decided to be productive, and photograph my work dinner.

Leftover kale and mushroom quiche.

With some carrot sticks and cucumber.

I swear, my car was not in motion when these photos were taken. Although I’m sure the people in the car next to me thought I was insane.

Work breezed by quickly, and I was soon back at home in the comfort of my pajamas. If only we could wear pajamas to work…hmmm. A girl can dream, can’t she?

I sat down to get in some quality time with the 46”, blog reading, and other time-suck activities. I also had my at home dinner (not to be confused with my work dinner).

I had to get in on the Rhubarb Mango Coconut Muffin action before they all disappeared. My dad ate two today. In a row. He told me he had one, and it was so good, he had to have another one. Then all the fibre caught up with him. Too much information?

With a milkshake. And by milkshake, I mean Vanilla Almondilla Vega Shake & Go Smoothie with almond milk. I bet if I froze it a bit, it would be like a milkshake. Hmmm…

I also spent a good deal of my evening agonizing over a baking project I must complete tomorrow. But, I think I have a solution to the challenge, so keep your fingers crossed it turns out as planned. And if I want that to occur, I should get myself in bed. Sleep deprived baking could be dangerous. Or at least messy. Night!
