Wanted: Witty Post Title

Oh how I loathe coming up with something catchy to title my posts. Sometimes, my brain just ceases to function, and nothing comes to mind. Here’s hoping my title writer’s block doesn’t extend throughout this post. Fingers crossed!

After my typical day off from work sleep in, I woke up basically starving. Not sure what that was about, but I could not get breakfast made fast enough!

It was no surprise that I went for a big bowl of cereal!

Kashi Honey Puffed and Honey Almond Flax cereals, raspberries, and hazelnut butter.

With a glass of Happy Planet Extreme Green juice.

And a side of sunshine! Finally!

While I was munching away on breakfast, the mail came – and there were some interesting little packages for me.

Mysterious black envelope and a little yellow box. What could be inside…?

An All-Bran bar sample that I signed up for some time ago, plus a coupon. Too bad they didn’t send the chocolate flavour 😉

A package of 5 React gum, which includes 3-D glasses? Apparently there is some website I’m supposed to watch with the glasses and chew the gum…I’m not really sure. Whatever, it’s a free sample!

After all the mail excitement, I decided to take a walk. I headed out to Mundy Park, and walked around the lake, where I found wild blueberries! We used to go into the park every summer with my grandpa to pick the wild blueberries and huckleberries around the lake. Grandpa was a hard core berry picker – he wouldn’t leave a bush until he got every last berry. Mom would always get mad that he never left any for the birds. I think I might go back tomorrow and collect a little container, for old times sake.

Once home and showered, I decided it was time for a bite of lunch.

I had some leftover grilled eggplant, mushrooms, and red pepper in the fridge, so I made another delicious sandwich with garlic scape pesto and a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese.

If only we had a panini press or Foreman grill – I bet that would make it just that much better! Must grill more veggies soon.

I grabbed a little chocolate snack in the form of a Penguin after lunch.

We bought these for my dad for Father’s Day, but of course everyone gets to enjoy them 🙂

Later I satisfied a little peanut butter & jam craving with a couple of crackers spread with the good stuff.

I had big plans of baking something this afternoon – until I found out we were missing 2 ingredients I needed. Which then sent me to 2 different stores to get them. By the time I was home, my baking mood was over. But never fear – it’s tops on the to-do list tomorrow!

Dinner time eventually rolled around. Mom had taken out ground beef, so we all assumed burgers on the BBQ. Boy were we wrong.

Instead, we had meatloaf.

With steamed early nugget potatoes, which we sprinkled with chives from the garden.

And some steamed broccoli.

Tonight was Zumba night, and it was another sweaty, fun time. Still seriously thinking of ordering some of they stylish Zumba clothes. Because obviously, that would make me an even better Zumba-er.

I was still a hot, sweaty mess when I got home, so the only possible evening snack was ice cream.

Coconut Bliss Dark Chocolate Hazelnut ice cream, strawberries, Barlean’s Chocolate Raspberry Omega Swirl, and coconut. Hit the spot.

Enjoyed while watching multiple episodes of Intervention on A&E. I’m strangely fascinated by this show, but get sad when I find out the people who went to their respective rehab centres end up relapsing.

Now I must sleep, but I need suggestions on what to make for dinner for the family tomorrow. I’m thinking it should involve the BBQ, and be summery. Perhaps pasta salad? Help me think of something!

I say make a big fresh salad, sliced bread and bbq shrimp skewers with a garlic/lemon marinade. YUM!

I assume you’d be a better zumba-er with the proper outfit too!

This post title made me laugh! 

I had no idea you could get huckleberties in the Van area. Everyone here is obsessed with them. To me they taste like glorified blueberries.

But then again maybe I just reject them
cause no one will tell you were to find any. They guard the secret with their life.

It’s funny really…..they do the same with fishing or hunting. They’re afraid someone will steal their piece of the wild. And yet there you go
publishing their location for all to see. I like your approach better! 

I think you may be the only person on this planet who enjoy coconut and chocolate as much as I do.
