I’m sure some could make the argument that I have already reached some level of insanity, what with my hiking up the Grouse Grind during the day, then doing a Zumba class without A/C that evening one day last week. Perhaps poor planning on my part, but I survived, and it wasn’t really that bad.
But that was then.
I received this package in the mail on Friday.
Remember the last time I did a Workout Wednesday post? I was trying to decide on a fitness program to try out. Well, I finally made a decision, and placed my order.
Yes, I went with the the Insanity program. Which apparently comes in a gargantuan box when you somewhat accidentally order the deluxe package.
Cat not included.
Can we say excessive packaging much? One of my pet peeves (no pun intended…because the cat is in the box…oh nevermind).
Nice little blurb on the outside of the box.
So aside from the hard core jumping mat pictured above, my Insanity package also included this array of fun.
All 10 DVD’s, nutrition guide, wall calendar, various inserts on the program (all part of the regular package), plus three extra workouts, the mat, and some unpictured skin fold callipers (deluxe package).
I figured there was no better time to start it than Birthday week. Monday was my Fit Test, and I was satisfied with my results. Nothing too surprising – I fail at push ups. Gives me something to work on. I’ve also completed the 1st two workouts, and they’ve gone pretty well I think. I haven’t reached my max potential, mostly because I need to watch a bit to figure out what I should be doing, but now that I know each of the exercises in the videos, I imagine the next time I do them I’ll be able to give a little more, or dig a little deeper 😉
I’m really looking forward to tracking my progress throughout the next 60 days. I’ll give little updates here and there if you all are interested.
Have you tried Insanity? Do you want to? Or do you have another favourite fitness program you do on a regular basis?
