Christmas Week 2010 – The Bonus

It’s time to kick off Christmas Week here on French Fries To Flax Seeds. Can you believe we are a mere 5 days away from the big event? Has the holiday crept up on anyone else? Just last week I was neck deep in physiology studying, and now I’ve managed to get all my shopping done, the gifts wrapped, and I’m ready to bake my heart out. Crazy I tell ya!

So for our first Christmas Week post, I’m going to talk about the first gift I received – my Christmas Bonus.

This is about bragging about what I got, because really, the monetary amount is moot point (or moo point – Friends reference anyone?) I was just pleased I even got a bonus considering I work part time as a cashier. Unexpected, and very much appreciated, that’s for sure. And it came at just the right time, as I was in the market for a new phone.

Remember my fancy new phone?

HTC Desire Z, Android based, lots of fun 🙂

Now that I’ve had some time to play with the phone, I’ve been getting familiar with the apps and functions available. Being the photography buff that I am, I of course had to check out the camera. So much better than the ones I’ve had on previous phones, and it takes some pretty decent photos. Here are a few photos I’ve taken with the basic camera app on the fly.

I then spent some time searching for add-on apps for the camera, and came across FX Camera, which can alter your photos with some fun effects, such as Warhol, Fisheye, and Polaroid. Definitely gives you some awesome arty pics of ordinary subjects. I’ve been wandering around the house, clicking away, mostly capturing Christmas decor. Shall we check them out?

What do you think? I love it. I can see utilizing snapshots like these for some arty blogging in the near future, especially when I’m out and about and don’t want to whip out the camera. Hell, I think I might even be able to blog right from my phone. Oh, the possibilities!

Did you manage to treat yourself to an early Christmas present? If so, do share!

And stay tuned for some more Christmas Week 2010 fun. I promise, there will be more about food and delicious holiday baked goods.

I just bought myself a new black coat that I have found myself trying on 3 times. The girl at the store finally said, “Come on, by it already!” I had spent the day buying gifts for everyone else so I thought I should go for it. No complaints!

I figure if I keep going back to look at something it means I really want it, so I say it’s totally justified!

Anywho – I’ve never gotten a bonus. I would LOVE to be surprised with one though! This year our boss (the head head head honcho) sent us an email with a picture of a present on it. Lame
