The PB & B Switch Up

The other day I was craving some good ol’ peanut butter and banana on toast, so I grabbed the PB jar off the shelf…only to find out it was almost empty. The horror! I looked at the almond butter, but I wasn’t in the mood. Then I saw a jar of unopened cashew butter, and thought, why not? It’s no peanut butter, but it has a buttery deliciousness all its own.

I toasted up my Silver Hills sprouted grain bread, sliced up a banana, and thought, “hmm, I think my breakfast needs a little something to kick it up a notch.

I looked to my spice shelf, and grabbed the cinnamon. Everything goes with cinnamon, right?

Then I remembered how awesome my Cinnamon Toast Pumpkin Seeds were with their salty sweet flavour combination, so I grabbed the sea salt.

A little sprinkle of each, and magic happened.

Sweet banana, creamy cashew butter, a kick of spice from the cinnamon, and little salty burst from the sea salt. This ain’t your childhood PB & B. This is a sophisticated, grown up breakfast. It was good enough, I made it again the next morning. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.

You’re right, anything goes with cinnamon! I love it with yogurt too, but I’ve never tried it sprinkled on cashew butter and toast. Lovely idea. Actually, cashew butter in itself was a brilliant invention!

Miss lady, this is my favorite variety of nut butter HANDS DOWN. Cannot keep in the house. I’d love to try macadamia nut butter one of these days! Oh gosh, and I had walnut cashew butter several months back and it took me to another place! Awesome! My go to breakfast is eggs and coffee
