Blogger Follow Friday – Intern Style

If you are on Twitter, I’m sure you know all about Follow Friday (or #FF, as the hashtag is know). For those maybe not so Twitter savvy, on Fridays many users select some people they follow on Twitter and suggest them to their followers as people they may also want to follow. It could be for a variety of reasons, and sometimes people have a theme for their #FF.

In the past little while I’ve discovered some of my classmates have started their own food/nutrition/internship blogs, which I think is awesome! Not to mention totally motivating – if they have time to blog, I have time to get off my duff and post here more often. Let’s be honest – I’ve been in a serious writing funk for awhile, but they have unintentionally helped me find my writing groove again, which is great, because I have so many pictures/post ideas that I’ve been building up. Thanks ladies! Now let’s check out their blogs.

Apron Strings & Healthy Things

Melissa started up her blog not too long ago, and has already shared a ton of great recipes. She’s doing her internship with Northern Health (Prince George and beyond!), and has just cooked up a moose roast – definitely living the Northern experience. We also worked together on a book review for Wheat Belly, and are currently working on the same internship research project.

HealthBean

Selena started HealthBean way back when we were in school, but she did a complete revamp in the past year (I think?), and it’s looking even better! She’s currently cooking up local eats in Kelowna (internship with Interior Health), has a gardening guru neighbour who leaves her treats like plums on her doorstep, and a local couple selling their homegrown carrots door to door. I’m not gonna lie, I’m jealous!

The Great(er) White(er) North

April is also spending her internship with Northern Health (and working on our research project), and has started a blog to chronicle her adventures in the snow covered parts of our province. Her writing style is exactly like she talks – candid, sometimes opinionated, bubbly, and fun.

Wealth of Health

Carolyn has some great looking recipes (and great photos) on her blog (the Kale & Cranberry Crisps are on my “to make ASAP” list). She’s completing her internship here in Metro Vancouver like I am, but unfortunately we don’t get to run into each other, well, ever! She’s also one of those crazy marathon runner people, and make some awesome sushi.

I hope you all get a chance to check out these blogs. And if any of my other fellow interns have blogs, please share! I love hearing what everyone is up to, and I know you are all avid cooks and bakers.

PS – While we’re talking about things you should check out, why not follow me on Twitter? And maybe like my Facebook Page? 😀
