7 Soups to Satisfy This Winter

Slurp. Sip. Savour. Sounds like soup time!

There’s nothing like a big hearty bowl of soup to warm you up on a cold winter’s day. In fact, I might even be so bold to say that soup is the epitome of winter comfort food – at least for me. I’m not talking about that condensed canned stuff you’ve had hiding in the back of your cupboard for months (maybe years). I’m talking about homemade, real food soups – ones that are satisfying enough to make a meal all on their own. Aside from some vegetable chopping, they are easy to make, economical, and perfect for tailoring to your own tastes and dietary preferences. Making your own soup means you can amp up the vegetables, include whole grains, and control the salt content. They freeze well, so you can stock your freezer with ready to go meals. And the smell of a soup simmering away slowly on the stove while the snow (or rain) is falling outside makes you feel warm and comforted even before your fist spoonful.

I’ve collected 7 of my favourite hearty winter soup recipes on the blog to share with you today – why not give one a go this weekend and you’ll be set for lunches for the upcoming week?
